LASER TATTOO REMOVAL

How to Remove a Permanent Tattoo?

People often ask, “Can a permanent tattoo be removed”? The answer is yes. The laser is by far the most common way to do so although the method is very expensive and painful too. In this method, importance is given more on the removal of ink rather than getting rid of the skin layer. Through this method, the ink’s pigment colours are broken up by exposing it to a high-intensity light beam. Tattoos which have been inked in black are easier to remove than tattoos having multiple colours. Passive and Active are the two types of laser methods through which tattoos can be removed.

The Passive laser tattoo removal method is usually done in beauty salons and is way cheaper than the Active method. However, the Active laser removal method, although a bit on the expensive side, is a more effective way of removing the ink. It is done by Dermatologists and requires several sittings.

IT IS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE TATTOO REMOVAL

  • Targets darkened areas of pigmentation

  • Breaks up areas of pigmentation, allowing the body to lighten and clear it naturally

  • Surrounding tissue is not damaged

  • Can treat light or dark skin types

  • Fast and comfortable treatment

  • Minimal downtime

STEP 1 - If the area has hair growth, the practitioner may shave it to avoid burning the hair.

STEP 2 - Acroma precisely targets the ink particles in your skin with a beam of laser light. As the ink particles absorb the light from the laser, they are broken up into fragments.

STEP 3 - After treatment, the skin will be sensitive for a few days. It will be covered with a sterile non-adherent dressing to protect it. You must not scratch the area during the healing process. Your body will progressively remove the ink fragments.

STEP 4 - Your tattoo will require several treatments, depending on the colour and type of ink used. You need to allow 6 to 12 weeks between treatments to ensure your body has time to eliminate all the ink fragments.

Frequently asked questions

HOW DOES ACROMA COMPARE TO OTHER TATTOO REMOVAL METHODS?

Most tattoo removal methods are harsh, painful and potentially scarring. They include surgical excision, dermabrasion (or sanding) and chemical peels. Acroma treatments are not only safer, they are very precise, targeting only the ink used in the tattoo process. The most precise of all laser treatments is Q-Switched Laser.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

The size, location, depth and colour of your tattoo will determine how many treatments are required. Professional tattoo inks and light colours are more difficult to remove.

HOW WILL THE TREATMENT FEEL?

The sensation of treatment is rather like the snap of a rubber band on the skin. Most patients do not require anaesthetics, although some people may feel more comfortable with a topical anaesthetic. Each session usually takes 10-30 minutes, depending on the size and colour composition of your tattoo

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY SKIN AFTER TREATMENT?

Right after your treatment, some whitening of the skin
may occur, the area around the tattoo might become reddish and could have some swelling. This is normal
and will disappear gradually over time. The full effect of each treatment takes about 5-6 weeks. Immediately after treatment, antibacterial ointment and gauze will be applied to the treated area to minimise the chance of infection.
